International environment

Per Ericson, Head of Group Staff People & Organization and Group Staff Communications

Working in an international Group often involves complex challenges, colleagues from other parts of the world and several career opportunities.

The Group works proactively to increase internal recruitment and job mobility. Having a diverse workforce, both in terms of nationality, gender and age among others, is an advantage as a diverse workforce is strong, competitive, innovative and resilient.

Respect and tolerance at the workplace is important to us - as well as ensuring fair working conditions, maintaining a safe workplace, and offering opportunities for individual development.

Our employees have a passion for our products and innovation, and a wish to set new standards in technology and usability to increase end-customers’ productivity.

We are also proud of our history and the strong entrepreneurial spirit that has helped us adapt to various challenges during the past 325 years.

Employee surveys shows communicative climate

The Group conducts annual employee satisfaction surveys yearly. In 2013, 89% of the workforce answered the employee survey. On an aggregated level, the survey showed that the Communicative Leadership index remained stable, that employees are more familiar with the Group strategy, a slight decrease in Feedback and Performance Reviews and that the Satisfaction Index dropped to 79 (82). One explanation for the drop might be the cost-improvement measures, where 5% of the workforce globally was made redundant.

Results from the survey are monitored centrally, and followed-up and acted upon at a local level, where managers and team leaders use the results as a team development tool throughout the year. More than 3,600 actions were recorded making the employee satisfaction survey an important driver for change.
