Lennart Wadsten

Operations manager, Edge, division F&G

Lennart Wadsten has been a part of Husqvarna Group for an impressive span of 47 years. At the age of seventeen, he started his career in the copying department, and after years of dedication and hard work, he now holds the position of operations manager at Edge. This remarkable facility serves as an innovative factory dedicated to the production of chainsaw chains. According to Lennart, creating a working environment that fosters engagement, performance, and development are essential stages of a long-time employee life cycle.

“Long-time commitment comes from seeing a path forward in the organization.”

–    Husqvarna Group opened the door for me, and it has been kept open for all these years. I have been given the required education and the support I needed to develop and continue to learn more. This is a workplace that inspires commitment and supports performance, and where you feel encouraged to open new doors and never exit.

Looking back at his 47 years within the company, there are plenty of memories and great moments that come to mind. One of which is the opportunity to be involved in the opening of the Edge factory back in 2016. Playing a crucial role in ensuring product quality and leading a group of people toward great success constitute proud moments for Lennart.

–    I have no background in engineering, but what I lack in technical knowledge I make up for in passion and good leadership. You must be given the chance to use your best qualities, and only then can you become passionate about what you do and feel proud of what you have achieved. You can’t be good at everything, but you can put together a team that is. I strongly believe that good leadership comes from the ability to ask for help. In my role, I have always strived to do that.

A lot has happened since 1976 when Lennart started his employment, what started as a traditional industrial business is now a blend of traditional and digital. But the true pillar of the Husqvarna success story remains the same – boldness and innovation.

–    Adapting to the contemporary world and changes is crucial and how you survive for 300 years. We have crash-landed several times but have always fallen from above. Boldness can backfire, but if you are in sync, you learn from the mistakes and try again. Being a part of this journey is a true privilege.
