Save money, space and time with a single battery for multiple brands

Bosch and Husqvarna Group’s Gardena division are set to form an alliance and, in cooperation with other leading brands, will offer a multi-vendor battery system for products used for the entire home: the Power for All Alliance. The basis for this alliance is Bosch battery technology.

Bosch Power Tools is opening up the 18-volt battery platform from its “Home & Garden” division to other manufacturers, thereby marking a milestone.

“Our users want powerful, reliable and flexible batteries – preferably for all applications around the house and garden. That is why we at Gardena have chosen Bosch and the joint establishment of the Power for All Alliance”, says Pär Åström, President for Gardena division.

“We are opening up our system to other manufacturers and offering users more flexibility than ever before thanks to a uniform standard. In the future, they will be able to use the same 18-volt battery to operate power tools, garden tools and household appliances from Bosch, as well as products from the Gardena, Emmaljunga, Gloria, Wagner and Rapid brands,” says Henk Becker, President of Robert Bosch Power Tools GmbH.

This will save users money, space and time when purchasing products from the Alliance in the future. Piles of incompatible batteries and chargers of different brands will become a thing of the past. The common goal is to offer users the largest multi-vendor battery system and thus the broadest range of applications for their homes: Do-it-yourself appliances, gardening and cleaning equipment, household appliances, products for surface coating, and for leisure and camping – and much more.

For the coming gardening season, Gardena is converting its entire 18-volt range to the Alliance battery system. All other partners are either already represented in the market with solutions equipped with Bosch batteries or are gradually expanding their range. In future, the companies will jointly drive this new flexibility for the entire home under the Power for All Alliance.

The establishment of the Alliance is the prelude to a partnership with strong brands. The addition of more manufacturers is already being discussed.
