Customer insight powering growth

Professional solutions is a prioritized growth area for Husqvarna Group. At Husqvarna Construction, growth starts with understanding what professionals need to get the job done and turning those insights into solutions. The new Elite-Cut™ F1600C range of diamond tools show how close customer collaboration and focused innovation can drive customer value and business growth.

A demanding challenge against the clock

At 3:30 a.m. at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, the clock was already ticking.

Belgian infrastructure and construction contractor TRBA, had just four hours each night to cut at least 250 linear meters of runway to a depth of almost 25 centimeters. The old concrete contained hard river gravel, making the work particularly demanding.

When the diamond blades normally used for the job could not deliver the required cutting speed, TRBA contacted Husqvarna Construction. Specialists from Husqvarna Construction joined the team on site to analyze the operation, optimize the cutting parameters, and identify a better solution. They introduced the new Elite-Cut™ F1600C floor saw blade range, developed for high-powered floor saws and demanding applications in cured concrete.

For TRBA and its partner Welo, the impact was immediate. Productivity improved significantly, enabling the team to meet, and at times exceed, its nightly targets while maintaining consistent performance. The cutting phase was completed on schedule, allowing the full replacement of the runway’s central section to continue as planned.

Investing in an attractive business area

Floor saw blades are part of Construction Sawing & Drilling, a business segment where Husqvarna Group holds leading global positions and sees strong growth potential.

Professional contractors working with concrete and other hard materials need more than a machine. They depend on a complete system in which the equipment, diamond tools, and application support work effectively together.

“These products are typically part of our offering to the infrastructure construction industry, where we build on more than 100 years of expertise across the entire value chain - from product development and manufacturing to sales and customer support,” says Jimmi Taybi, Global Product Manager Diamond Tools at Husqvarna Construction.

The Elite-Cut™ F1600C shows how focused investment can create value for both customers and the business. Since its launch, the range has achieved strong commercial performance and growing customer demand.

“We see significant sales growth and are gaining market share,” says Steve Noiret, Vice President Product Management Sawing & Drilling at Husqvarna Construction. “It highlights the strategic importance of diamond tools and reinforces our commitment to investing where we can create the greatest value for customers.”

Developed together with customers

After promising laboratory tests, blades were evaluated at customer job sites across Europe, North America and Australia, with extensive field testing in real operating conditions. Working alongside customers helped the team understand how the blades performed across different materials, machines and applications, and where further improvements were needed.

“By observing applications first-hand, gathering direct feedback and continuously validating product performance, we gained a deeper understanding of what contractors need to succeed,” says Jimmi Taybi.

Those insights shaped the product throughout its development. They also inspired the campaign message used at launch: Love at first cut.

The range incorporates two proprietary technologies, CDD and ADV, designed to support efficient use of the diamonds in the blade and improve stability and cutting behavior. Together, they help deliver the speed, durability, and consistent performance required in demanding professional applications.
